Ellis Simms is surely set to make his Premier League debut soon after scoring goals for fun for Everton at youth level.

Everton have told young goal machine Ellis Sims that he has no chance of leaving Goodison Park on loan this summer because he is in line for a promotion to Marco Silva’s first-team squad, according to the Mirror (27 June, page 62).

The Toffees sealed a second Premier League 2 title in the space of three years in May with a number of exciting, up-and-coming talents ready and waiting to force their way into the senior squad in the next few months.

But while Everton are planning to loan out the likes of Josh Bowler, with TEAMtalk claiming that Middlesbrough are leading Derby County in the chase for his signature, it seems that Simms will be staying on Merseyside.

The prolific striker scored 46 goals in all competitions in 2018/19, including 32 in 21 U18 Premier League games, and there was understandably a host of Football League clubs who were queuing up to give him a chance.

But The Mirror claims that Simms has been told by Marco Silva that he is a key part of his plans going forward and a temporary departure is not in the club’s thoughts as things stand.

Tom Davies, Jonjoe Kenny and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have all become first-team regulars since winning the Premier League 2 title in 2017 and Simms will be hoping to follow in their footsteps.
