Josh Bowler scored on his second Championship start for Hull City but will he ever play a Premier League game for Marco Silva’s Everton?

Hull City are free to sign Josh Bowler for £5 million next summer, with Everton including an option-to-buy clause in his contract when they loaned the young winger out to the Championship outfit, according to the Hull Daily Mail.

Big things were expected of Bowler at Goodison Park when the Toffees snapped him up from Queens Park Rangers in 2017 for a fee of £4.25 million, as reported by Sky Sports.

But, despite playing a key role as David Unsworth’s U23s won the Premier League 2 title for the second time in three years, it looks increasingly likely that the 20-year-old will leave Merseyside without ever making a first-team appearance in Everton colours.

And, what’s more, Marco Silva’s side will make a measly £750,000 profit should Hull decide to take up their option to keep Bowler on Humberside on a permanent basis.

The one-time Fulham youngster had endured a sluggish start to life at Hull but he did offer a reminder of his potential in Saturday’s stunning 3-0 win away at his former club in West London.

Bowler opened the scoring at Craven Cottage with an excellent volley in just his second start of the season.

And if he can build on that and turn Hull’s electric front two (below) into a fearsome front three, that £5 million fee could soon look a bargain.
