La Liga champions Barcelona are willing to sell Samuel Umtiti with Arsenal keen to bring him to the Premier League.
Arsenal will have to shatter their transfer record to sign Samuel Umtiti this summer with Barcelona demanding £60 million for the World Cup winning centre-back, according to Goal.
Umtiti has been a Barca player since the summer of 2016, swapping Lyon for the Camp Nou after helping France reach the European Championship final, but he has been surprisingly made available by the La Liga champions.
Goal reports that Ernesto Valverde’s side need to raise funds to sign their top defensive target, Ajax’s Matthijs de Ligt, and they are willing to cash in on Umtiti. But they want to make a huge profit on the 2018 World Cup winner, demanding a fee of £60 million.
This is far less than his staggering £426 million release clause, of course, but it is still a fee that would stretch Arsenal’s budget to its limit.,
The club’s current record signing is the Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who joined from Borussia Dortmund at the start of last year for £56 million (ESPN).
But Mundo Deportivo believes that Arsenal are willing to offer Umtiti, who has made just ten appearances due to injuries this season, a fresh start at The Emirates.
According to the Mirror, the Gunners are willing to sell Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Mesut Ozil, Shkodran Mustafi, Mo Elneny and Calum Chambers to fund new signings.
