Jonathan Woodgate has been tipped to replace Tony Pulis as the manager of Championship outfit Middlesbrough.

Jonathan Woodgate would appear to be a popular choice as the new Middlesbrough manager, with the Northern Echo reporting that he has plenty of support from within the dressing room.
Boro’s first-team coach has been heavily tipped to be promoted to the top job after the sacking of Tony Pulis earlier this month, despite the fact that the 39-year-old former England international has no experience as a manager in his own right.
Woodgate, who enjoyed two spells at the Riverside during his playing days, has been working as a coach at Middlesbrough for the last two years.
And the Northern Echo reports that there are plenty of players on Boro’s books who want to see Woodgate handed his chance in the dugout ahead of the 2019/20 season.

Boro owner Steve Gibson has a history when it comes to appointing highly-rated young coaches with the Northern Echo pointing out that he has previously given a chance to Steve McClaren, Gareth Southgate and Aitor Karanka.
Middlesbrough, who finished seventh in the Championship last season, have been linked with more experienced managers recently such as former club captain Nigel Pearson and one-time Newcastle United boss Chris Hughton.
