Boro have won just two out of 14 Championship games since Jonathan Woodgate replaced Tony Pulis as manager at the Riverside.

Jonathan Woodgate is not about to lose his job as Middlesbrough manager any time soon, according to the Mirror (30 October, page 52), with owner Steve Gibson still hopeful that the former defender can turn things around.
Boro have endured a miserable start to the Championship season with Woodgate, who replaced the veteran Tony Pulis over the summer ahead of his first ever managerial role, coming under pressure from a very frustrated fan base.
The North East outfit have won just two of their first 14 league games under the Englishman, their worst start to the season for 30 years.
In fact, Middlesbrough are stuck in the relegation zone and only four points off the bottom of the table.

But, according to the Mirror, Woodgate is in no immediate danger of the sack with Gibson, who famously prefers to give his manager’s time rather than pull the trigger at the first sign of concern, still confident that the 39-year-old is the right man to lead the club forward into a new era.
One of the main bugbears among Boro fans is that Woodgate was expected to introduce a more exciting style of play after the pragmatism of Pulis. But they have found the net just 11 times in 14 matches with both of their last two games ending in 0-0 draws.
