Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly shown an interest in signing Angel Correa from La Liga giants Atletico Madrid so have AC Milan.
Tottenham Hotspur could have a second chance to snatch Angel Correa. Because, according to Calciomercato, the Atletico Madrid winger’s prospective move to AC Milan stalled.
It has been a summer of substantial change at the Wanda Metropolitano and an Argentine international could be about to follow Antoine Griezmann, Lucas Hernandez, Diego Godin and Filipe Luis out of the door.
Despite enjoying arguably his best season under Diego Simeone in 2018/19, Atletico are apparently willing to cash in on Correa with AC Milan leading the chase as the Rossoneri look to build a squad capable of challenging at the top of Serie A again.
Calciomercato reports that Milan reached a ‘verbal agreement’ ahead of a £45 million switch to the San Siro.
But, thanks to a disagreement over bonuses and with Milan failing to sell Andre Silva after he failed a medical at Monaco, Correa has now been left in limbo. He wanted to join Marco Giampaolo’s side but, the report claims, his move is ‘very much at risk’.
And this could potentially open the door for Tottenham to breathe fresh life into a deal that looked dead some time ago.
The Rosario-born forward is an attacker build from the same mould as Heung-Min Son and Lucas Moura with his speed and skill likely to fit in perfectly with the typically end-to-end style of Premier League football.
