Celtic’s Scottish Premiership champion striker Moussa Dembele is reportedly determined to join Ligue 1 outfit Lyon and is very unhappy with Brendan Rodgers

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers (R) and Moussa Dembele are seen during a training session at Lennoxtown Training Centre on December 29, 2016 in Glasgow, Scotland.

With just hours left in the transfer window, Moussa Dembele is still a Celtic player though he doesn’t seem too happy about that.

According to Sky Sports (10.36am), the striker is frustrated that Celtic have blocked his move to Lyon, who made a bid of £18 million on Thursday.

And Dembele certainly raised eyebrows when he took to Twitter to write; “A man without his word is nothing. A real man keeps his word” – a message Sky Sports believe was aimed at Brendan Rodgers.

But what has Rodgers done to irritate Dembele so much? Well, according to L’Equipe, the 22-year-old met with Celtic’s board to outline his issues.

It is claimed that Rodgers pushed Dembele to accept offers from Premier League sides Brighton and West Brom in the January transfer window after telling the striker that Celtic simply isn’t big enough for him. Dembele apparently beleives that Rodgers’ desire to make him stay now is rather hypocritical.

This is quite the claim, given that Rodgers is the manager of Celtic and you’d assume would want to keep his best players at Parkhead.

Though if true, you can understand why Dembele would be unhappy with the Northern Irishman if he is standing in his way now. It has been a somewhat unhappy summer for Celtic fans and this latest messy saga isn’t helping.
