Premier League bottom club Fulham are reportedly ready to back new manager Claudio Ranieri in the January transfer window.

In hindsight, maybe Fulham’s £100 million summer splurge was not the best idea.
There is no doubting the potential of Jean Michel Seri, Luciano Vietto, Andre-Franck Zambo Anguissa and co, but their lack of Premier League experience has been brutally exposed in a dismal start to the season for the Cottagers.
As it stands, Fulham are bottom of the Premier League table, and only two sides have ever endured a worst start to a top flight campaign. So Claudio Ranieri, who replaced Slavisa Jokanovic in a shock move on Wednesday, has plenty of work to do.
According to the Mirror, Ranieri is already looking to build the Fulham team in his image, with three players targeted just weeks until the transfer window swings open.
It is understood that the Londoners will back the Italian with a ‘huge January warchest’ – with two new defenders and a centre-forward on Ranieri’s wish list.

It is little surprise that the former Chelsea and Leicester boss wants a couple of defenders, given Fulham have conceded 31 goals in just 12 games so far.
Competition for Aleksandar Mitrovic in attack would also be welcomed, given that Fulham have averaged less than a goal a game.
But, with so many of Fulham’s summer signings failing to live up to their price tags, they cannot afford to make the same mistakes in the New Year.
