Vassilis Lambropoulos helped AEK Athens knock Celtic out of the Champions League, now could reportedly join Scottish Premiership giants Rangers.

It is no secret that Rangers are looking for a new defender in the January transfer window with The Express claiming in November that a centre-back was high on Steven Gerrard’s wish-list.
And, according to SDNA, the Glasgow giants have now expressed an interest in the AEK Athens powerhouse Vassilis Lambropoulos.
A 28-year-old centre-back, Lambropoulos is something of a late bloomer having only established himself in the Greek national team this year, earning two caps so far. He was also a key player as AEK won the league title last season.
But it seems that Lambropoulos is on his way out in the New Year with AEK looking likely to lose a number of their key players and a move to Rangers appears to be on the cards.

Interestingly, Lambropoulos might already be a fans’ favourite at Ibrox after helping AEK knock bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic out of the Champions League in the qualification stage at the start of the season. The experienced defender was hugely impressive in two legs against Brendan Rodgers’ side.
And Lambropolous could be available on a cut-price fee with his contract due to expire at the end of the season.
