Kenny Miller is leaving Glasgow giants Rangers for the third time but will he stay in the Scottish Premiership with St Mirren?
Kenny Miller may be 38 but that does not mean he is ready to hang up his boots just yet.
It is expected that the veteran striker’s third spell at Rangers is set to come to an end this summer. The Sun had suggested that Miller had played his last game for the Ibrox giants after that well-documented row with interim manager Graeme Murty following the 4-0 Scottish Cup semi-final defeat to Celtic in April.
The report adds that Miller has agreed to meet new Buddies manager Alan Stubbs to discuss extending his playing career in Paisley. St Mirren won the Championship title last season under Jack Ross, who has now departed for Sunderland, and they need a striker after 22-goal Gavin Reilly left upon the expiry of his contract.
Interestingly, however, second tier Livingston are also keen on Miller and allegedly want him as a player-manager.
Miller, who has taken his coaching badges and previously expressed an interest in management, is understood to be weighing up the option with Livi making him their top choice to replace the departed David Hopkin in the dugout. Livingston held talks with the striker on Friday.
The ball, then, is very much in Miller’s court.
