Rangers paid £1.5m to bring Eduardo Herrera to Ibrox from Liga MX but he has failed to score a single goal in the Scottish Premiership.

Rangers took a risk when they paid Pumas UNAM £1.5 million for Eduardo Herrera in the summer transfer window.
The Mexican international striker was well known by then Gers manager Pedro Caixinha, who worked with him during a loan spell at Santos Laguna in the 2013/14 campaign. But Herrera hardly arrived at Ibrox in form, having netted just seven goals in 33 games across 2016/17.
And it is fair to say Herrera, like so many of the imports brought to Ibrox by Caixinha, has proved to be a massive disappointment.

He has scored just twice in 24 games, the last coming in a cup clash with Partick Thistle in September, and he has not made a league appearance in three months.
So it should be no surprise to learn that Herrera is set to leave. The Daily Record claim that Chivas, who have tried to sign the 29-year-old before, have made an enquiry and it is understood Rangers will look to cut their losses.

Rangers have already sent Carlos Pena – another Mexican international signed by Caixinha – back to Liga MX this year and it appears unlikely that Herrera will be given too many chances to salvage his career in Glasgow.
Even if Alfredo Morelos does leave, as expected this summer, the Gers have a deal in place to sign Jason Cummings permanently from Nottingham Forest when his loan deal expires.
