Teenage midfielder Charlie Owens is out of contract in the summer and, after a trial, could swap Tottenham Hotspur for Queens Park Rangers.

Since making the switch from Tottenham Hotspur to Queens Park Rangers in January, young forward Aramide Oteh has impressed on a regular basis. The 18-year-old looks well placed to progress at Loftus Road, away from the hugely competitive Spurs academy.

And he could be joined by a fellow Tottenham academy graduate at the end of the season. The Daily Star report that teenage midfielder Charlie Owens could sign for QPR when his contract runs out at White Hart Lane.

The 19-year-old had stepped up from the Under-18s to the development squad earlier in the season but was taken on trial by QPR in March.

Therefore, Owens has obviously done enough to impress the club’s coaches with the Daily Star claiming that they will not waste an opportunity to pin the cultured midfielder down to a permanent contract at the end of the current campaign.

And though the Islington-born midfielder is a long way off making an impact in Ian Holloway’s first-team at QPR, director of football Les Ferdinand’s Spurs contacts look to have paid off again, and he appears to be an excellent fit for the manager’s preferred style of play.

Blessed with an impressive passing range and innate awareness, Owens’ ability to distribute the ball efficiently will surely go down well with Holloway renowned for his easy-on-the-eye footballing philosophy.
