Queens Park Rangers manager Ian Holloway wants more Championship experience and Hull City defender Alex Bruce has that by the bucket load.
Naturally, many expected Alex Bruce to rock up at Aston Villa when it was announced that he would be leaving Hull City upon the expiry of his contract.
He knows the manager rather well, after all.
However, according to Get West London, he could be on his way to the capital instead with Queens Park Rangers on the lookout for an experienced centre-back.
At the age of 32, and with previous stints at Ipswich Town, Birmingham City and Leeds United, Bruce has a wealth of Championship experience under his belt. Just twelve months ago, he helped the modern-day yo-yo club, Hull, to a second promotion in three years.
However, after falling down the pecking order at the KCom Stadium, it’s understandable that Hull would consider him surplus to requirements.
Nonetheless, the two-time Northern Ireland international would certainly fit the bill for QPR manager Ian Holloway.
After all, Get West London report that he wants more experience in his side after the Loftus Road club finished a disappointing 18th last season, just two points above the Championship drop zone.
And despite the fact that Bruce suffered relegation in an injury-hit loan spell with Wigan Athletic in the second half of last season, the no-nonsense centre-back would surely improve a back line who conceded more goals than 22nd-placed Blackburn Rovers last season.
