Nahki Wells has barely played in the Premier League for Burnley and has reportedly been offered a route back to the Championship with Queens Park Rangers

Queens Park Rangers clearly have a few issues in defence right now, highlighted by that embarrassing 7-1 defeat at West Brom on Saturday.
But it should not be forgotten that QPR have scored just twice at the other end too in the three Championship games since Steve McClaren took over at Loftus Road. So at least the Londoners are making efforts to rectify one part of the team.
According to the Daily Star (21 August, page 42) QPR have made an approach to sign Nahki Wells on loan from Burnley until the January transfer window.
Wells moved to Turf Moor from Huddersfield Town last summer for £5 million but, thanks in part to injuries, has struggled to make any sort of an impact for The Clarets. The 28-year-old has made just nine substitute appearances in the Premier League for Sean Dyche’s side, totalling 46 minutes of action.

But he has a good record in the Championship. In three full seasons at Huddersfield, Wells scored 39 goals in England’s second tier.
Versatile and quick, the former Bradford City favourite would give McClaren’s side some much needed quality going forward. Matt Smith, Idrissa Sylla and Connor Washington have all failed to find the net so far in 2018/19.
