Vurnon Anita has not made a single appearance for Championship leaders Leeds United since Marcelo Bielsa arrived at Elland Road.

Vurnon Anita looked on paper like one of Victor Orta’s more sensible signings last summer.
The experienced Dutchman had won the Championship title with Newcastle United in 2016/17 and moved to Elland Road on a free transfer, after Rafa Benitez decided against extending his contract.
Capable of playing in central midfield or in either full-back position, Anita looked to add plenty of versatility to Leeds’ squad. So few might have expected that the 29-year-old would struggle so badly to nail down a regular starting place at Elland Road.
Since Marcelo Bielsa arrived in the summer, his stock has fallen further. Anita has not featured in any of Leeds’ six competitive games under the Argentine tactician so far.
So it should be no surprise to learn that Leeds are still hoping to move on the former Ajax man before the transfer window slams shut on Friday.

That is according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, who claim that Leeds want to get rid of Eunan O’Kane and Caleb Ekuban, too. The former, a striker who struggled in his debut season in English football, is closing in on a move to Turkish side Trabzonspor.
Bielsa has been ruthless in trimming his squad in recent weeks with Felix Wiedwald, Andy Lonergan, Pawel Cibicki, Marcus Antonsson and Ronaldo Vieira among those who have already bid farewell to West Yorkshire.
