Everton were linked with a deadline day loan swoop for Chelsea’s Premier League youngster Kurt Zouma, but the transfer window has now closed.

Last season, Everton had to contend with a defensive partnership of two 30-somethings whose best days were well behind them. But heading into the 2018/19 campaign, Marco Silva could partner two of the most promising young centre-backs around at Goodison Park.
The Toffees completed the protracted signing of Barcelona’s Colombia international Yerry Mina on deadline day for a fee of around £28.5 million, according to the Mail. And Kurt Zouma could still join him on Merseyside, even though the transfer window slammed shut at 5:00pm on Thursday.
Everton were linked with a last-gasp deadline day loan swoop for the promising Chelsea starlet and it seems that the deal is expected to go through.
The Mail adds that Everton managed to file the appropriate paperwork before Thursday’s 7:00pm deadline and Zouma will therefore be confirmed as an Everton player at some time on Friday.

The 23-year-old will arrive under scrutiny after struggling during a loan spell at Stoke City last season, suffering relegation from the Premier League. But, before suffering that dreadful cruciate ligament injury in the spring of 2016, Zouma was seen as one of the best young defenders around.
The two-time France international, who moved to Stamford Bridge from St Etienne in 2014 for £12 million (BBC), initially looked the real deal at Chelsea and he will be hoping to find his top form once again under Silva.
