Everton reportedly tried and failed to sign Yacine Brahimi in 2016 and it seems that Premier League competitors West Ham United have suffered the same fate.

Back in August 2016, Everton were trying to sign the Porto winger Yacine Brahimmi, according to Sky Sports. But the Algerian international was not exactly enamoured by the prospect of a move to Goodison Park as his preference was a club which could offer Champions League football.
Now, West Ham United appear to be having similar difficulties as they attempt to bring Brahimi to the Premier League this summer.
ESPN reported on Thursday that The Hammers had sent a delegation to Portugal in order to negotiate a deal for the 28-year-old, who was back to his dazzling best last season as Porto ended their five-year wait for a Primeira Liga title.
But it is now being reported by Record that West Ham’s hopes look slim. Brahimi has allegedly told Porto manager Sergio Conceicao that he would rather stay at the Dragao than join Manuel Pellegrini’s West Ham revolution.

Porto will be playing Champions League football next season so perhaps this is the reason why the 2014 BBC African Footballer of the Year has once again turned his nose up at a potential move to England.
Though this should not cloud what has been a brilliant summer for West Ham, who have already added plenty of creativity to their squad with the signings of Andriy Yarmolenko and Felipe Anderson.
