Manuel Pellegrini has only been in charge of West Ham United since March and they are already bottom of the Premier League table.

Manuel Pellegrini should have known what he was getting into at West Ham United.

Just two months before he was appointed as the club’s new manager, the Hammers suffered their darkest of days against Burnley at the London Stadium.

As if a 3-0 home defeat to Sean Dyche’s side was not bad enough, a huge number of fans launched protests against much-maligned owners David Gold and David Sullivan with coins thrown and corner flags raised aloft in fury.

Life at West Ham is never quiet with Gold and Sullivan calling the shots. They have frequently been accused of being too involved in the manager’s affairs and, according to the Times, Pellegrini is discovering that life at the London Stadium is not plain sailing.

It is claimed that Gold and Sullivan demand to know Pellegrini’s team on matchdays before even his players are informed of who will be starting. The former Manchester City boss, the Times adds, has been left bemused by this.

In truth, this appears to justify the ‘meddling owners’ tag that has been placed on Gold and Sullivan from some sections of a frustrated West Ham support.
