Caner Cavlan was one of the Eredivisie’s most underrated players in 2018/19 but will he join Championship outfit Nottingham Forest now?
Nottingham Forest are interested in signing FC Emmen’s swashbuckling left-back Caner Cavlan, according to El Desmarque.
The 27-year-old full-back enjoyed the best season of his career in 2018/19, playing a major role as Emmen staved off the threat of relegation in an impressive first season of Eredivisie football.
And Cavlan was arguably their star man, scoring four goals and setting up another eight with his all-action style earning him plenty of admirers from across Europe.
El Desmarque reports that Real Betis are keen with Cavlan potentially identified as a potential successor for Real Madrid linked Junior Firpo. Olympiakos, who have missed out on the Super League title for the last two years, are interested too.
The report adds that Nottingham Forest are also in the race with Cavlan set to become a free agent at the end of next month.
Jack Robinson has been Forest’s number one left-back over the last ten months or so but Cavlan would offer far more creativity and thrust on the flank. A Dutchman or Turkish descent, he has all the qualities to become an immediate fans’ favourite at the City Ground.
