Panathinaikos could cash in on left-back Niklas Hult this month, with Nottingham Forest keen to take him to the Championship.

Aitor Karanka looks keen to raid his former club as he aims to shape the Nottingham Forest squad in his image.
The Northern Echo stated last week that the Spaniard is keen to link up with Middlesbrough duo Adam Clayton and Patrick Bamford at the City Ground, while The Mirror (page 44, 15th January) states that he is also keen to bring Grant Leadbitter over from the Riverside.
But Karanka is also willing to look a little further afield in the transfer market, too.

Because the Nottingham Post reports that Forest have been linked with a move for Panathinaikos left-back Niklas Hult. The Swede, who can also play in midfield, has been left out of the Greek giants’ last two matchday squads and is expected to leave this month.
And although there is interest from PAOK and Anderlecht, Forest could be Hult’s destination with the Championship side ready to pay about £270,000.
Panathinaikos paid just short of £1 million to sign Hult from Ligue 1 side Nice in the summer of 2016, but could be willing to accept a reduced fee for the six-time Swedish international due to the financial problems plaguing the club.

Hult is an attack minded full-back who is also renowned for his solid one-on-one defending. This should be music to the ears of Forest fans, who have been clamouring for additions to a back line that always seems to be on the verge of collapse.
Forest could do with additions at left-back after midfielder Ben Osborn was forced to fill in on occasions, so a bargain deal for Hult would be well received.
