Premier League defender Benalouane is set to drop down to the Championship and aid Nottingham Forest’s promotion ambitions.

It hasn’t taken long but it seems that Nottingham Forest are on the verge of already completing the first signing of the Martin O’Neill era.
The 66-year-old sealed an emotional return to the City Ground on Tuesday, announced as the successor for Aitor Karanka, and he is working alongside another recent recruit Jose Anigo to bring new faces to the East Midlands.
And, according to The Mail, Yohan Benalouane is edging closer to a move that will give Forest some extra depth at the back.
The 31-year-old Tunisia international is expected to leave Leicester City this month after failing to make a single appearance all season under Claude Puel. And it is understood that Forest will offer him an 18-month contract and pay an as-yet undisclosed transfer fee.

As reported by talkSPORT, Benalouane arrived at the King Power Stadium from Atalanta for around £5.6 million in 2015, though he played a minimal role in The Foxes’ remarkable Premier League title triumph.
And the 6ft 1ins defender has made just 16 league appearances during his time as a Leicester player, which now appears to be at an end.
