Panagiotis Tachtsidis looks set to leave Nottingham Forest without ever making a Championship appearance, but he’s shone at Serie A newcomers Lecce.

Panagiotis Tachtsidis is set to complete a permanent move from Nottingham Forest to Lecce after the Italian outfit sealed their return to Serie A at the weekend, according to Lecce Prima.
The 25-time Greece international joined Forest on a free transfer in September, signing a two-year deal with the Championship club after being released by Olympiakos.
But Tachtsidis didn’t exactly prove a useful addition to Aitor Karanka’s squad, failing to make a single appearance for the two-time European Cup winners. He was only included in the matchday squad once in the first half of the season.
So it was little surprise when Tachtsidis, a former Roma, Torino, Cagliari and Genoa midfielder, returned to Italy in January, joining second tier Lecce on loan until the end of the 2018/19 campaign.

But while he struggled at Nottingham Forest, the 28-year-old has been a huge success at the Stadio Via del Mare. He produced three assists in 17 games for Lecce while his composure, experience and authoritative style has really caught the eye.
And with Lecce sealing promotion on Saturday after a 2-1 triumph over Spezia, Lecce Prima reports that they will now automatically trigger the clause in Tachtsidis’ contract requiring them to sign him on a permanent basis.
