Premier League outfit Newcastle United could finally sell Jack Colback with Championship giants Nottingham Forest reportedly keen to strike a deal.

Jack Colback is closer than ever to leaving Newcastle United at last, according to new reports provided by The Chronicle.
It has been clear for some time that the midfielder has no future on Tyneside. Rafa Benitez told Colback to leave last summer and, when he refused to do so, he was forced to train with the reserves until Nottingham Forest offered him an escape route via a short-term loan spell in January.

Colback impressed hugely at the City Ground but, thanks to his mammoth £40,000-a-week wages, it seemed that a return to Forest was very unlikely.
But The Chronicle is now reporting that Nottingham Forest are now keen to sign Colback on a permanent basis, which suggests that a club who have suddenly shown real ambition and a willingness to spend big will fund the former Sunderland man’s hefty pay-packet.
Forest had previously been linked with another loan move for Colback. This, however, did not go down well at Newcastle considering that the 28-year-old is out of contract in a year and this is perhaps the last chance for The Magpies to make a decent profit on a player they signed for free four years ago.

And the Chronicle adds that Nottingham Forest could seal Colback’s return by the end of June with manager Aitor Karanka keen to tie up a few more deals before pre-season training begins on June 25.
