Championship giants Nottingham Forest have made a shock move to sign Algerian striker El Arbi Hillel Soudani from Croatian giants Dinamo Zagreb.

Well this report came out of the blue.
It is understood that Forest have made a bid for Soudani, who won the Croatian League’s Player of the Year award in 2017 and is leading the race for the Golden Boot with 11 goals so far this season.

Zagreb, however, have turned down an offer for the influential striker but, if the opportunity presents itself, Soudani would jump at the chance to join Forest before the end of the month.
“I wanted to be in England because of the great atmosphere at the stadiums, playing against great teams, I think that’s normal,” Soudani, the sixth highest goalscorer in Algeria’s history, told Croatian publication Sportkse Novosti.
“But I say, hope still exists somewhere. Only God knows what will happen by the end of the transfer window. I will accept any decision.”
There may be a place in Forest’s squad for another striker after Jason Cummings completed his move to Rangers last week, heading to Ibrox on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.

And while Soudani is hardly a household name in England, a tally of 63 goals in 118 games for Dinamo Zagreb, a ratio better than one in two, suggests he could be worth a punt.
