Tobias Figueiredo has been offered an escape route out of Portuguese giants Sporting LIsbon by Championship side Nottingham Forest.

Nottingham Forest look to be on the verge of completing their first signing of the Aitor Karanka era.

It is understood that Figueiredo will move to the City Ground on loan for the rest of the season, when his deal will be made permanent in a compulsory purchase option worth somewhere in the region of £2 million.
The 23-year-old has risen through the ranks of the famous Sporting academy that produced the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Figo, although he never really nailed down a place in the Lisbon giants’ first-team.
Figueiredo has only played twice for the senior side this season, with manager Jorge Jesus clearly not a fan, and he is now set to be offered an escape route and the chance to prove himself in England.

Forest will be hoping that Figueiredo, who starred as Portugal reached the final of the under-21 European Championships in 2016, will go some way to shoring up a defence which remains the club’s Achilles heel.
Only five teams in the Championship have conceded more goals than Forest this season.
