Ben Marshall’s spell at Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers looks over with Championship duo Millwall and Norwich reportedly interested.

Ben Marshall of Millwall prepares to take a corner during the Sky Bet Championship match between Hull City and Millwall FC at KCOM Stadium on March 6, 2018 in Hull, England.

Millwall are not the only Championship side interested in signing Wolves winger Ben Marshall this summer.

The Scottish wideman spent the last few months at The Den, making a very positive impression as Neil Harris’s side flirted with a place in the play-offs. And The Mirror had reported that Millwall were willing to break their transfer record in order to sign Marshall for £1.2 million.

But, according to Newshopper, the deal is at risk of being hijacked by Norwich City.

The Canaries have already bid farewell to two wingers this summer, Josh Murphy joining Cardiff City and free-agent flop Marley Watkins joining Bristol City. And it is understood that former Blackburn and Leicester ace Marshall has been identified as a ready-made replacement for either of the departed duo.

Marshall has been one of the finest wingers in the Championship over recent seasons but quickly fell down the pecking order at Molineux with the now Premier League outfit spending big on upgrades like the Atletico Madrid star Diogo Jota.

27-year-old Marshall, who joined from Blackburn for around £2 million in January 2017, made just one Championship start before moving to Millwall on loan halfway through the Championship winning campaign.

Newshopper add that Millwall might struggle to compete with Norwich’s finances, potentially making the Carrow Road outfit the favourites.
