Relegated Bundesliga outfit Hannover could lose captain Bakalorz with Norwich City reportedly keen to take him to the Premier League.

Marvin Bakalorz of Hannover 96 is disappointed of being relegated after the Bundesliga match between Hannover 96 and Sport-Club Freiburg at HDI-Arena on May 11, 2019 in Hanover, Germany.

Norwich City are looking to raid Germany again by signing Marvin Bakalorz on a free transfer, according to Fussball Transfers.

The 29-year-old midfielder looks set to be on the move this summer after Hannover were relegated from the Bundesliga, slipping out of the top flight with a whimper after a dismal season in which they never looked like surviving.

Bakalorz, who has played for the club since 2016 and scored once in 25 Bundesliga games in 2018/19, is due to become a free agent when his contract expires in July.

And reports from the continent are claiming that Norwich are keen to snap him up on a bargain deal.

The Canaries have enjoyed great success when it comes to signing players from Germany with Mario Vrancic, Marco Stiepermann and Onel Hernandez playing a major role as they won the Championship title under former Dortmund youth coach Daniel Farke.

The report adds that Hannover have offered their influential captain a new deal but he is considering his options with Augsburg and Freiburg offering Bakalorz the chance to stay in the Bundesliga.

A year ago, Bakalorz was linked with a £7 million move to Leeds United and he told Sport Buzzer that a move to abroad was something he would consider.

“As I said, I hear about (the Leeds speculation). (The chance to move) abroad is always interesting.”
