Report: Norwich City coach Daniel Farke wanted by Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt

Daniel Farke could swap the Championship for the Europa League if he leaves Norwich City and returns to the Bundesliga this summer.

Norwich City would have been hoping to follow in Huddersfield Town’s footsteps when they appointed Daniel Farke last summer.

Farke had previously worked with Borussia Dortmund’s reserve team, just like Huddersfield’s charismatic coach David Wagner.

But while Wagner led The Terriers to the Premier League for the first time, Farke only managed to take a far more talented and expensively assembled Norwich squad to a hugely disappointing 14^th place finish in the Championship.

And the Eastern Daily Press reports that Farke has been targeted for a return to Germany this summer.

The 41-year-old is a target for Eintracht Frankfurt, who are looking for a replacement for the Bayern Munich-bound Niko Kovac. Farke has a contract at Norwich until 2019 and recently stated that he was happy with life at Carrow Road but it remains to be seen whether a return to his homeland would appeal.

Norwich fans have been split almost down the middle by the former SV Lippstadt coach this season. Many have expressed frustration with his style of football while others have pleaded patience with the project still yet to really take shape.

Frankfurt, meanwhile, are still in with a chance of qualifying for the Europa League next season and boast a number of talented players including Sebastian Haller, the enigmatic French striker who has previously been linked with Norwich.
