Polish defender Pawel Bochniewicz is contracted to Serie A outfit Udinese but will he get a move to the Premier League with Daniel Farke’s Norwich?
Norwich City have identified Pawel Bochniewicz as a top target once their promotion to the Premier League is confirmed, according to the Sun (22 April, page 62).
The Canaries missed their chance to seal a return to the top flight on Easter Monday when they were held to a 2-2 draw away at Stoke City.
But Daniel Farke’s side are three points clear with just two Championship games remaining, meaning promotion merely looks like a formality at this point.
The Sun claims that Norwich are already identifying players who will help them adapt to life back in the first division with Polish centre-back Bochniewicz on their radar.
The 23-year-old is contracted to Italian outfit Udinese but he’s been on loan at Gornik Zabrze in his homeland since January 2018, making 40 appearances for the Ekstraklasa outfit.
Standing at 6ft 4ins, Bochniewicz certainly has the height and physicality to play in the Premier League although the Sun suggests that Norwich could face competition from Watford, who are linked with Udinese via their Pozzo family owners.
Sporting director Stuart Webber has worked wonders in the transfer market at Carrow Road with a series of inspired bargain signings and Bochniewicz could be the latest.
