John Obi Mikel could reportedly be offered a Premier League return after leaving Middlesbrough with Norwich City and Sheffield United both keen.

Norwich City and Sheffield United are in talks to sign John Obi Mikel from Middlesbrough this summer, according to Nigerian publication Sport247.
The experienced midfielder returned to England after two years in the Chinese Super League in January, joining Tony Pulis’s side on a short-team deal which has now expired with the Championship season coming to an end.
And, with Boro missing out on the play-offs, it looks as if Mikel has played his final game for the club although the 32-year-old has made it clear that he plays to stay in England.
“This (England) is where I want to be, I want to be closer to home, I want to be near my family, so we’ll see what happens. I have a few options here and there, you never know in football,” the former Chelsea star told the Gazette last week.

And he could be offered a return to the Premier League according to Sport247 with newly promoted duo Norwich and Sheffield United apparently vying to sign Mikel on a free transfer.
The two-time Premier League winner would provide plenty of top flight nous for a Norwich or Sheffield United side who are certainly short of proven performers in England’s first division.
And Mikel showed during his short time at the Riverside that there is plenty of life in the old dog yet.
