West Bromwich Albion pair Jake Livermore and Kieran Gibbs could reportedly join Salomon Rondon at Premier League outfit Newcastle United.
Salomon Rondon is not the only West Bromwich Albion player who Newcastle United want to sign this summer, with Jake Livermore and Kieran Gibbs also of interest to Rafa Benitez according to TEAMtalk.
Newcastle and West Brom have done plenty of business between themselves over the last 12 months. Rondon and Gayle swapped clubs last summer on season-long loan deals while Jacob Murphy also headed to The Hawthorns on a short-term contract in February.
Rondon has since scored nine Premier League goals for The Magpies and TEAMtalk claims that Newcastle are keen to sign the Venezuelan targetman on a permanent basis.
The report adds, however, that Benitez also wants to bring England internationals Gibbs and Livermore to Tyneside and is willing to offer Gayle and Murphy as bait.
Former Arsenal defender Gibbs would potentially solve Newcastle’s ongoing issues at left-back while Livermore could offer depth and experience to a midfield that is likely to be reduced by the departures of Isaac Hayden and Jonjo Shelvey over the summer.
Interestingly, The Mail claimed last week that Newcastle were only willing to pay £12 million for Rondon with West Brom wanting closer to £16 million.
