Stefanos Kapino has been dumped by Greek Super League giants Olympiakos and could be on his way to Newcastle United.

Rafael Benitez has dropped both Rob Elliot and Karl Darlow at times this season and is clearly unsatisfied with the goalkeeping options at his disposal at Newcastle United.
It will come as no surprise to learn, therefore, that The Magpies continue to be linked with a variety of shot-stoppers ahead of the January transfer window.
Greek outlet Sportdog is now reporting that Newcastle are interested in Olympiakos keeper Stefanos Kapino with Serie A duo Bologna and Udinese also on the trail.

The 24-year-old is a nine-time Greek international who enjoyed an excellent breakthrough season in 2016/17, helping Olympiakos to yet another league title.
An exit looks inevitable in January, however, as he has fallen out of favour at the Piraeus club. After a dreadful performance in a 3-2 defeat to AEK Athens in September, Kapino has not featured once with the veteran Silvio Proto taking his place.

And the report adds that Olympiakos will sell Kapino for as little as £1.7 million in the New Year. But the highly-rated shot-stoppers struggles this season do not appear to have put off Newcastle, who have made a habit in recent years of signing talented youngers on bargain deals.
Interestingly, Kapino is the second Greek goalkeeper to have been heavily linked with Newcastle in recent times.
The Mail claimed in August that Newcastle had asked to sign Udinese Orestis Karnezis, who is challenging Kapino for the number one jersey at international level, but he instead put pen to paper with Watford.
