Everton striker Oumar Niasse is a target for both West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace; not to mention Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle United.
Everton are willing to listen to offers for Oumar Niasse this month and there appears to be no shortage of takers for the Senegalese centre-forward.
The Guardian reports that the Toffees value Niasse at around £13 million. Premier League relegation rivals Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion are both interested in offering the 28-year-old a fresh start this month.
But they are not alone. TEAMtalk reported on Thursday that Newcastle United are the latest club in the frame to sign Niasse this month.
The Magpies have been looking at a number of strikers to give them more of a threat in attack, with neither Joselu nor Dwight Gayle really doing enough to suggest they can score enough goals to keep the club in the top flight.
But Niasse has five goals in just five league starts for Everton this season. And, after Newcastle made a late attempt to scupper Diafra Sakho’s move from West Ham to Crystal Palace, as reported the Daily Mail (live blog, 10.01am), it appears Niasse is another viable option on their radar.
The problem, however, is that Newcastle could struggle to meet Everton’s £13 million asking price. The Chronicle stated this week that manager Rafa Benitez is still unsure of his January transfer budget with owner Mike Ashley unwilling to invest; although the Spaniard believes he has between £10million and £15million to spend.
Therefore the permanent signing of Niasse would leave Benitez will no money to enhance other areas of a limited squad. Do not be surprised, then, if Newcastle make a loan offer for the Everton striker.
