Four Premier League clubs want Hamburg teenager Josh Vagnoman – Newcastle United, Everton, Arsenal and Chelsea.

Most 17-year-old’s are worried about getting through their A-levels. Josh Vagnoman, however, could be forced to make a decision which will affect the entirety of his career – before it has even really begun.

ESPN stated this week that the teenage Hamburg full-back is a man in huge demand with Premier League trio Everton, Chelsea and Arsenal all looking to beat German giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund to Vagnoman’s signature this summer.

And Bild have claimed that there is another English club in the frame for the second youngest player in Bundesliga history – Newcastle United.

However, any hopes that Rafa Benitez might have had of luring Vagnoman to St James’ Park could soon receive a blow with Bild adding that he is mulling over a new deal at Hamburg, purporting to keep him at the club until 2021 despite their relegation from the Bundesliga last season.

Vagnoman, who can play on the right or left of defence, has been watched frequently by Arsenal, ESPN claim, with head of recruitment Sven Mislintat a long-time admirer. The Gunners believe they are well placed to win the race for the Germany U17 ace.

But Chelsea, Newcastle and Everton will not give up easily, particularly the latter.

It is understood that The Toffees’ new Director of Football, Marcel Brands, is aiming to replicate his approach at PSV by bringing some of Europe’s top young talents to Goodison Park.
