Nikola Vlasic made just seven Premier League starts for Everton last season but is still reportedly on Newcastle United’s radar.

Nikola Vlasic’s debut season at Everton didn’t really go to plan. The 20-year-old arrived at Goodison Park on August’s deadline day from Hajduk Split but wasn’t given too many chances to justify his £10 million price-tag.
Despite some bright performances in the Autumn, Vlasic was quickly sidelined under Sam Allardyce and ended the 2017/18 season with just seven starts in the Premier League.
Nonetheless, it seems that Vlasic has still done enough to attract the interest of Premier League competitors Newcastle United. According to The Mail, Newcastle have discussed the possibility of bringing Vlasic to St James’ Park on loan next season.
The Croatian youngster is blessed with pace, creativity and fine dribbling skills. He can also play on either wing or even through the middle – potentially giving Rafa Benitez the number 10 that he has been looking for for quite some time now.

The prospect of a loan deal for a player who cannot get in Everton’s team, however, does not look like the most ambitious of moves. But it perhaps reflects the difficult financial situation at Newcastle, after Benitez admitted that he would have to sell players in order to finance new signings.
With Newcastle as yet failing to cash in on Aleksandar Mitrovic, Matz Sels, Chancel Mbemba and co, cheap loan deals could be the order of the day.
