Hassane Bande has plenty of admirers in La Liga while Newcastle United are also keen on the Jupiler League phenomenon.
Hassane Bande can’t stop scoring for Belgian first-division side Mechelen. And, according to ClubCall, his prolific performances in the Jupiler League have caught the eye of Newcastle United.
It is understood that The Magpies are among a number of clubs who will send scouts to watch Mechelen’s top tier clash with Charleroi at the weekend in the hope of seeing Bande add to his eight goals in seven starts so far in 2017/18.
In total, the 19-year-old is accountable for 47 per cent of Mechelen’s 17 league strikes this season. No club in the Belgian top flight relies on a single player so much for goals.
Needless to say, the side sitting just a point off the bottom of the table will be loath to lose the league’s top scorer midway through what is shaping up to be a really difficult season.
Though Mechelen may be powerless to prevent Bande departing in January if Newcastle are willing to put a good offer on the table. The report adds that the Burkina Faso striker is highly touted in Spain with La Liga giants Valencia, Sevilla and Atletico all interested, as well as Eredivisie outfit PSV Eindhoven.
Bande is far from the first African-born teenage striker to earn rave reviews in Belgium and it appears that he could follow in the footsteps of former KAS Eupen forward Henry Onyekuru (above) and earn a move to one of Europe’s biggest leagues.
