Samuel Grandsir is on the radar of Premier League strugglers Newcastle United and Bournemouth after shining for Troyes in Ligue 1.

Newly promoted Troyes will be more than happy with their current standing of 14th in the Ligue 1 table. Sitting clear of the relegation zone for now, the star of the show has undoubtedly been talented winger Samuel Grandsir.

But there’s a price to pay for success and, according to The Sun, Grandsir’s fine performances in France have piqued plenty of interest across the channel.

The Sun claims that Newcastle United and Bournemouth are fighting for the France Under-21 star’s signature and it is understood that the Premier League duo have both held talks with the highly-rated attacker.

Troyes are determined to keep Grandsir, whose value has soared to £4 million in recent weeks, but know that they will not be able to resist a big offer from the Premier League.

Whether a bid arises from Newcastle, however, remains to be seen. The Magpies’ lack of creativity is becoming more of a problem by the week and they looked toothless in the final third again in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Arsenal, a result which sent Rafa Benitez’s side into the relegation zone.

Bournemouth too could do with some added skill and speed in attack despite boasting a more than decent forward line on paper. The Cherries are one of the Premier League’s lowest goalscorers with 15 strikes in 18 league games.

Grandsir, however, has contributed four assists and two goals in an impressive introduction to Ligue 1.
