Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund would rather sell Andre Schurrle, but Premier League pair Newcastle United and West Brom may not play ball.

For differing reasons, West Bromwich Albion and Newcastle United have barely spent a penny between them in the January transfer market.
The Baggies have found their spending power restricted by those pesky Financial Fair Play regulations, while Newcastle have been tied down by the scrimp and save ownership style of Mike Ashley.
So with both Premier League strugglers eyeing an audacious move to bring Andre Schurrle back to England from Borussia Dortmund, it will not come as any surprise to learn that only a loan deal is on the cards right now.

The 2014 World Cup winner has struggled badly since moving to Signal Iduna Park from Wolfsburg in the summer of 2016. And it is understood that BVB would prefer to sell him permanently this month, perhaps in an attempt to recoup much if the club record £30 million fee they invested in the German international.

But with money tight, West Brom and Newcastle are only keen on signing Schurrle on an initial loan deal, alhough ESPN adds that they would both be keen to sign the former Chelsea attacker permanently if he was to impress on his return to the Premier League.
Schurrle at his best is an unpredictable, speedy attacker with an eye for goal. If he finds form, he could be a real asset as Newcastle and West Brom bid to avoid the drop.
