GD Chaves’ Primeira Liga starlet Stephen Eustaquio is reportedly a target for Premier League duo Newcastle United and Manchester City.

GD Chaves appear to have a real star on their hands in Stephen Eustaquio.
The Portuguese U21 international is one of the most highly-rated Iberian talents around right now and, just last week, the Mail reported that Manchester City, Barcelona and Real Betis are keeping tabs on him.
A midfielder who has been compared to David Silva but admires Sergio Busquetts, the Mail adds that Sporting Lisbon have made a move to trigger his £13.3 million release clause.
According to Noticias ao Minuto, there is now another club in the race to sign Eustaquio – Newcastle United.
The January transfer window is just weeks away and, after a three-game winning streak, Saturday’s home thumping by West Ham United once again highlighted the lack of relative quality available to Rafa Benitez so new arrivals would be welcomed.

While money is tight at St James’ Park, a £13.3 million fee should be within Newcastle’s budget. Renowned for his intelligent passing skills in the centre of the park, Eustaquio would help Benitez’s side gain a measure of control in games while helping to open up opposition back lines.
With Pep Guardiola’s City, plus the La Liga champions, also interested, this would be a major coup for Newcastle.
