Report names one Wolves player expected to make his debut against Leicester

Wolverhampton Wanderers host another Premier League outfit, Leicester City, in their Carabao Cup tie at Molineux on Tuesday night.

Nuno Espirito Santo has not left much room for rotation since Wolverhampton Wanderers were promoted to the Premier League. The former Porto and Valencia boss has named the same starting XI in each of Wolves’ top flight fixtures so far.

But the EFL Cup clash at home to Leicester City on Tuesday gives Wolves’ fringe players and highly-rated youngsters a rare chance to impress in the first-team.

And according to the Birmingham Mail, three of Wolves’ most exciting talents are expected to feature against Claude Puel’s visitors at Molineux.

It is claimed that 20-year-old Portuguese midfielder Pedro Goncalves, who arrived from Valencia in 2017, could make his first start after coming off the bench against Sheffield Wednesday in the second round win at Hillsborough.

Striker Benny Ashley-Seal could also make his maiden Molineux appearance having scored a remarkable seven goals in just three games for the U23s this season.

Ryan Giles, meanwhile, could make his senior debut for Wolves after producing a number of hugely impressive performances in pre-season. The attack-minded left-back, who shone during a loan spell at hometown club AFC Telford in 2017/18, has thrilled supporters with his speed and swashbuckling style and will be hoping to prove that he can provide back-up to Jonny Otto.
