Aston Villa welcome League Two Yeovil Town on Tuesday night in EFL Cup action and a few of Steve Bruce’s fringe players could feature.

It has been a difficult few years for Aston Villa but the array of impressive youngsters emerging from Bodymoor Heath has at least given the fans something to look forward to.
The likes of Callum O’Hare, Keinan Davis and Andre Green made their mark on Steve Bruce’s first-team last season and look set for bigger roles this time around. And the EFL Cup clash with Yeovil Town on Tuesday night could provide a platform for some more of the next generation to get their chance.
According to the Birmingham Mail, a number of Aston Villa’s most promising youngsters were omitted from the 2-0 U23 win against Norwich City on Monday night; a good sign that they are set to be involved against the League Two visitors in cup competition.
One of those who played no part against the Canaries is 21-year-old forward Harry McKirdy. If he features, he will be making his first-team debut for Villa on the back of a decent loan spell at Crewe Alexandra last season.

The report suggests that Jake Doyle-Hayes and Corey Blackett-Taylor, who have just three first-team appearances between them, should also hope to be involved.
Rushian Hepburn-Murphy, who fired Villa to the Premier League Cup title last season, is also expected to lead the line.
