Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly want to bring former Chelsea defender Luis back to the Premier League from La Liga giants Atletico Madrid.

Wolverhampton Wanderers famously beat Real Madrid to the signing of highly-rated striker Rafa Mir in January 2018 and now they are facing a battle with another Spanish giant, FC Barcelona.

According to Goal, Wolves have held talks about potentially bringing Filipe Luis back to England when the Atletico Madrid legend’s contract expires at the end of the season.

Despite being 33-years-old and with a disastrous spell at Chelsea on his CV, the Brazilian international remains one of the most talented and successful left-backs of his generation. He has won seven trophies with Atletico, including the 2014 La Liga title and last season’s Europa League.

But what chance do Wolves have of luring Luis to Molineux, especially when he wants to join his ‘dream’ club this summer instead?

According to Sport, the veteran has offered his services to Barcelona as he looks to fulfil a lifelong ambition of playing for the reigning La Liga champions.

And given that Barca are crying out for some cover at left-back with Jordi Alba showing signs of fatigue during the final weeks of 2018/19, Ernesto Valverde’s side might just be tempted to take up Luis’s offer.
