Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United want to sign Boca Juniors’ Uruguayan midfielder Nahitan Nandez if they are promoted to the Premier League.

Leeds United could have a new record signing if they are promoted to the Premier League this season.
The Whites have been linked with Uruguayan international Nahitan Nandez since last week and new reports from his homeland, via Ovacion, have claimed that it will take a club-record bid to bring the Boca Juniors star to Elland Road.
The 23-year-old exploded on to the scene in 2018, forming a formidable partnership with Arsenal ace Lucas Torreira as Uruguay reached the quarter-finals of last summer’s World Cup. He then impressed at club level, although Boca lost the Copa Libertadores final to bitter rivals River Plate.
And Nandez could soon be rewarded with his big break in the world’s most high profile league. Leeds United are allegedly interested, although they will have to be promoted before they can dream of paying what Boca want for arguably the best midfielder in Argentinian football.

According to Ovacion, Leeds are willing to trigger Nandez’s new release clause, which stands at £26 million, with promotion to the Premier League likely to boost the club’s coffers.
This would see the former Penarol ace become their new record signing, exceeding the £18 million they paid West Ham for Rio Ferdinand 19 years ago.
