Crystal Palace could once again be set for some Wilfried Zaha speculation, with Ligue 1 side AS Monaco linked.

Wilfried Zaha of Crystal Palace shoots during the Premier League match between Crystal Palace and Newcastle United at Selhurst Park on September 22, 2018 in London, United Kingdom.

Wilfried Zaha signed a new five-year deal with Crystal Palace in August, becoming the club’s best-paid player as a result. But even that has not stopped the speculation surrounding his future.

Zaha has been linked relentlessly with a move away from Selhurst Park in the last year or so, during which time he has blossomed into one of the Premier League’s most influential players.

Since the start of last season, Palace have lost every single game in which the 25-year-old has been absent, and he has started this campaign in explosive fashion, too, taking his tally to three league goals already with a stunning winner against Huddersfield Town last week.

Zaha did not have the same impact in the goalless draw against Newcastle United on Saturday, however, and it remains to be seen what a certain Michael Emenalo, formerly Chelsea’s technical director, thought of his display.

According to London News Online, the Monaco sporting director was present at Selhurst Park to watch the Ivory Coast international in action. Considering that the 2017 Ligue 1 champions are 16th in the table after a dreadful start, it is understandable that they would be looking for some big-name additions.

Michael Emenalo, Technical director at Chelsea is seen prior to the Premier League match between AFC Bournemouth and Chelsea at Vitality Stadium on April 8, 2017 in Bournemouth, England.

Monaco have scored eight goals and won just one of six games so far in 2018/19.

According to the Standard, Palace valued Zaha at £70 million in the summer and his price-tag will only have risen after signing a new long-term contract.
