Middlesbrough need a new manager and a new winger and reports claim they are looking to raid Championship rivals Hull City for the Poland international.

Middlesbrough are hoping to revive their rather toothless attack by signing Poland international Kamil Grosicki from Hull City this summer, according to the Daily Star.

Boro’s lack of cutting edge cost them a place in the play-offs last season as they finished seventh under Tony Pulis and whoever replaces the now-departed Welshman at the Riverside will need to find a way to bring about some vast improvements in the final third.

Grosicki would certainly enhance an attack which found the net just 49 times in 46 league games in 2018/19.

A Polish star with 66 caps to his name, the former Rennes star remains as sharp and speedy as ever at the age of 30 and he enjoyed a superb campaign with Nigel Adkins’ free-flowing Hull, scoring nine goals in the Championship.

Grosicki joined Hull from Rennes in a £7 million deal in January 2017 (the Hull Daily Mail) and it remains to be seen how much they will demand this summer.

The Northern Echo did claim that Hull asked for £8 million from Middlesbrough when the North East outfit made an unsuccessful attempt to bring Grosicki to the Riverside five months ago.
