Queens Park Rangers reportedly want to tie Luke Freeman down to a new contract – but Championship rivals Boro are circling.

By hook or by crook, Queens Park Rangers managed to hold onto Luke Freeman during the summer transfer window.
According to Sky Sports (9 August), Middlesbrough made a bid for the creative midfielder on the final day of the summer transfer window while Blackburn Rovers offered £4 million.
QPR refused to sell, however, and Freeman remained at Loftus Road. But for how much longer remains to be seen.
Because London Football News reports that the former Arsenal trainee is set to be a man in demand once again in the January transfer window. And it is understood that a Middlesbrough side sitting second in the Championship are still very much interested.
Although the 26-year-old has been overshadowed by Eberechi Eze in recent months, he has still been integral to QPR’s rise up the Championship table. He produced 12 assists in the second tier throughout the 2017/18 season too.

And, worryingly for QPR, London Football News adds that Freeman had recently admitted that he would be tempted by the idea of joining a promotion-cashing side to fulfil his dream of playing Premier League football.
Middlesbrough, two points behind league leaders Norwich City, could be a sensible move then for a player who has just 18 months remaining on his contract.
