Tony Pulis’s Championship challengers Boro are willing to pay £2million to bring Birmingham City forward Isaac Vassell to the Riverside.

Middlesbrough are planning to renew their interest in Birmingham City forward Isaac Vassell in the summer, according to the Sun (10 March, page 61).
The speedy 25-year-old emerged as a top target for Tony Pulis during the final days of the January transfer window, with the Sun (30 January, page 63) reporting that they were willing to pay £2 million to tempt the Blues into a sale.
Vassell has found goals hard to come by since he moved to St Andrews from Luton Town in 2017, with then-manager Harry Redknapp praising his ‘electric’ pace and claiming he had the potential to be a ‘top player’ (Birmingham Mail).
The Newquay-born forward has scored just one goal in 17 Championship games for Birmingham and has failed to find the net in eight appearances this season.
Nonetheless, the Sun believes that Middlesbrough are likely to renew their interest and make a new offer in July.
Birmingham have no interest in letting Vassell go, however, and will move to extend a contract that is currently due to expire in 2021.
He was left on the bench as the Blues lost 1-0 against city rivals Aston Villa on Sunday.
