St Etienne’s Hamburg loanee Lacroix could reportedly move to the Championship today with Boro and Forest linked.

Middlesbrough appear to have made a new centre-back their top deadline-day priority after losing Danny Batth to Stoke City earlier this week.

The Scottish Sun reports that Boro are keen on the £10 million-rated Aberdeen powerhouse Scott McKenna, who has been the subject of a bid from Championship rivals Stoke City.

And Bild has now thrown Leo Lacroix into the mix before tonight’s 11pm deadline. It is understood that Middlesbrough are interested in the 26-year-old St Etienne defender, who spent the first half of the season with Bundesliga.2 giants Hamburg.

Bild add that Tony Pulis’ side face competition from their Championship rivals Nottingham Forest, who are also keen to secure defensive reinforcements after losing Danny Fox to Wigan Athletic.
