Dean Henderson is not the only goalkeeper Chris Wilder allegedly wants to sign for Premier League newcomers Sheffield United this summer.

Sheffield United have expressed an interest in signing wantaway Mechelen goalkeeper Michael Verrips as the wait for Dean Henderson’s Bramall Lane return goes on, as reported by the Mail.
In an ideal world, Henderson’s would have already arrived back in the Steel City for a second loan spell from Manchester United.
The England U21 international was outstanding for Sheffield United during the 2018/19 season, keeping 21 clean sheets as Chris Wilder’s side finished second in the Championship behind Norwich City and sealed an unexpected return to the Premier League after 12 years away.
But Henderson is not the only goalkeeper Sheffield United want to sign.
The Mail claims that Verrips is also on Wilder’s radar, most likely as a back up to the future Manchester United star.

A former PSV youngster, the 25-year-old Dutchman has been plying his trade in Belgium since 2018 and he is apparently determined to force a dream move to the Premier League this summer. Verrips was outstanding for Mechelen last season and he apparently wants to convince his club to let him go on a free, despite the fact he has another two years on his contract.
According to Sporza, Verrips has been conspicuous by his absence at recent training sessions, refusing to attend as he looks to force Mechelen’s hand.
