Could Mauricio Pochettino bid farewell to Spurs and the Premier League? La Liga giants Real Madrid reportedly hope so.

Has Mauricio Pochettino taken Tottenham Hotspur as far as he can? Possibly.
It is understood that Real president Florentino Perez could wield the axe on Zinedine Zidane this summer with Los Blancos putting up a rather miserable defence of their La Liga crown. Real are 15 points adrift of Barcelona and Zidane is under pressure, even though the Frenchman is just three games away from leading the club to a third straight Champions League title.

And Pochettino is Perez’s preferred target should Zidane leave – with the Bernabau job understood to be a lifelong ambition for a man who previously coached in Spain with Espanyol before moving to Southampton in 2014.
The former PSG defender has done a fantastic job since being appointed by Tottenham four years ago, leading the North London club into the Champions League, establishing them as one of England’s most attractive sides while turning the likes of Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen and Mousa Dembele into genuinely world class performers.
But Spurs have also failed to win a trophy during his tenure and, with chairman Daniel Levy seemingly unwilling to shift his restrictive wage ceiling, a number of the club’s best players have been reported to be considering their future.

The 46-year-old has a contract at Spurs until 2021.
